VLRC Abbotsford
Our ongoing collaboration with Vision Loss Rehabilitation Canada (VLRC), the national leader in rehabilitation services for individuals who are blind or have significant vision loss, continued with the design of their new Abbotsford office.
For this space, we focused on creating an environment that is accessible, comfortable, and inclusive, reflecting VLRC’s mission and values. We incorporated high-contrast finishes—including distinct wall and base colors, white cabinetry with black hardware, and dark cover plates—to support navigation and spatial clarity.
A custom braille wall covering, installed in the entrance and reception area, serves as both a tactile and visual feature, expressing VLRC’s core values of respect, independence, trust, and compassion. The result is a welcoming, purposeful workspace designed to empower and connect.

Love This Project?
From the very beginning of the project, Andrea and her team demonstrated professionalism, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to ensuring the space would meet the unique needs of our blind and low vision staff and clients.
We found the design process to be highly collaborative. The team took the time to thoroughly understand our needs, including specific considerations regarding accessibility and sensory experiences for visually impaired individuals. Their approach was thoughtful, methodical, and respectful, ensuring that the initial design presentation and ultimately the final vision not only met our functional needs but also exceeded our expectations in creating an inclusive and welcoming environment.
